Do you ever reconnect with someone after a long time and your friendship just clicks? That's exactly what I felt when Rachel asked me to be a part of her big day! My first thought, "HOW EXCITING! She's entrusting me with her make-up for one of the biggest days in her life." My second thought, " I'm SO NERVOUS! I hope she loves her make-up for her day!"
Those nerves quickly dwindled away during her bridal trial when we reconnected after a few years. We had met through mutual friends in college and I was so happy to be able sit down with her and chat about her upcoming nuptials and her groom. In true bridal form, Rachel wanted to look classic with the volume turned up a bit and I think we did just that.
When Rachel and Eric's big day arrived, I walked in to a room full of sweet women that you could clearly see LOVED Rachel and Eric. They were all helping each other get ready and taking care of whatever they could for their bride. Rachel, in my eyes, was probably the calmest bride I've ever worked with. She was relaxed and ready for the exciting day ahead of her and her future husband.
Once we got started, time seemed to fly by! We ended up turning up the drama with her eye make up and lip color, and I was literally SO in love with the way it turned out.
Rachel is a woman with a heart full of grace and friendship and in those moments doing her make-up and being around her bridal party I felt like a friend rather than just her make- up artist. Rachel, thank you for trusting me on your big day and for becoming not only my bride but my coach and friend!
