Current Beauty Favorites: Everyday Routine

Some of the most common questions that I get from friends and clients is "What is your favorite product for ______?" So I thought that putting all of my current beauty routine favorites in one place would be a good idea for anyone to refer to!

Base:

Primer is SO key when it comes to longevity and the final finish of your make up. My favorite at the moment is Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.Lately, my skin has developed some major texture in my cheek region (No, I definitely don't have perfect skin). This primer is silicon based and fills in all of my texture and bigger pores which creates a smoother result for your foundation. Equate it to priming a wall when you're changing paint in a room. You want the final outcome to be smooth, pigmented and perfect, right? The same applies for primer underneath your make up. Don't skip it!

Foundation:

My foundation preference changes just like the seasons! At this moment, my skin is oily in the T-zone and dryer on the outer edges of my face. To combat all these issues, I mix foundations! Right now my preferred cocktail is equal parts Too Face Born this Way Foundation in Vanilla and Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Foundation in Fairly light Beige. It's literally my perfect shade at the moment. The biggest problem with finding your perfect foundation is color matching, in my opinion. Natural light is preferred to compare it and always test on the jawline down to the neck to make sure you're matching the color to the body, not to the color of your face.

Concealer:

Let me preface this by saying I'm sorry but I'm about to change your life... Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Concealer is the holy grail of all concealers on the market right now. Nothing and I mean nothing compares to it. It's full coverage, light weight and has zero cake factor underneath your eyes. The only problem, this product is never in stock. My advice? Stalk Ulta and Tarte Cosmetics until it comes back in stock and BUY THEM ALL! Seriously, you won't regret it.

Setting Powder:

If you're a watcher of Youtube Beauty guru's then you know Laura Mercier Translucent Setting powder is probably one of the most talked about and recommended products right now. Unfortunately it comes with a hefty price tag just for setting powder. So I opted for a drug store option! NYC New York Color Setting Powder in Translucent is just as fantastic as LM but with a less than $4 price tag. I use this every time I do my make up by baking under my eyes and setting the rest of my face. I highly recommend giving this powder a try.

Bronzer:

Another Youtube beauty guru favorite that deserves all the praise is Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. It is the perfect shade of neutral bronzer for my skin tone (which is quite pale) without leaning too orange-y like a handful of bronzers I've tried. A drug store option that I LOVE... Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer! It's just as amazing at about half the price.

Blush:

I've always been a neutral/orange blush lover. For me, the Maybelline Fit Me blushes give just the right amount of pigment with the ability to blend seamlessly into your other make up. The key to blush is applying it in the right places for your face shape.

Highlighter:

Highlighting is definitely one of the biggest trends in make up right now, in my opinion. I have a love hate relationship with it. I think when done well with the right products, it can look SO beautiful and highlight the points of the face that catch light. However, I'm just not a fan of being overly highlighted. But the beauty? Make up is art and you can do whatever you want with it! My favorite natural looking highlight is definitely Essence Cosmetics Pure Nude highlighter in Be My Highlight 01. It gives a natural sheen to the tops of my cheek bones without looking too glittery or stripe like.

Liquid Eyeliner:

My RIDE or DIE liquid liner will always be NYC New York Color Liquid Eyeliner in black. I love the shape of the wand, the formula of the liner and just the ease of using it. It is always smudge proof for me and I feel like my winged liner just looks flawless when I use it. Plus, the price can't be beat. It's under $4 and beats out many higher end liquid liners.

Mascara:

Right now, it pains me to say this but I am loving Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. I received a sample of it in a kit I purchased from Sephora and I AM IN LOVE. It separates, creates volume and gives me length and it's just perfect. But at $26 a tube, it can be a budget breaker. My advice? Any and all Maybelline mascaras are just a wonderful! I really love the Falsies and the Mega Plush mascara!

False Lashes:

I am the girl that fell down the rabbit hole when it comes to wearing false lashes. I am addicted to wearing them every time I do my make up now. My favorites? Ardell Wispies and Shishi Lash. Both brands have invisible and flexible bands that are so easy to work with and look spectacularly natural on. As for lash glue, Duo lash glue is my favorite for its price and staying power. The key? Make sure you let the glue get tacky on the lash band by letting it dry for 30 to 60 seconds.

Lipstick:

There are SO many liquid lipstick formulas out on the market right now. I am a lover of a matte, bold lip. For me there is no question, I love Smashbox Always On Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Miss Conduct. It's the perfect deep berry red for fall and the staying power can't be beat.

enjoy! xoxo
